Fuller’s opens car wash in Harwood Heights

Fuller’s opened its 24th location in the Chicagoland area last month at 4800 N. Nagle Ave. in Harwood Heights. Previously, the site was home to Elliot’s Dairy.
“I felt the community needed a good carwash,” said Matthew Fuller, the owner of Fuller’s Carwash.
“It’s fully automated,” Fuller said. “Your car comes out clean, shiny, and dry. We offer free vacuums, too.”
The business needed approval from the village board for special zoning to operate, which it received in 2017. Also in 2017, the village announced an agreement with the business to receive on a monthly basis 2 percent of its gross revenues generated, which was to cover increased public services the village anticipated would be necessary.
The site was upgraded to accommodate the flow of traffic at Nagle Avenue and Gunnison Street, and some of the curb cuts were changed to create new exits and entrances to the property.
“We cleaned up the whole corner,” Fuller said. “There was an old building that was closed up, and we tore it down. We cleaned up the whole property, and we built our new building.”
According to its website, Fuller’s has been in business since 1946. It offers, among other services, the option to get a heavy-duty cleaning with jet blast spray, super soaper and an underbody blast with rust inhibitor.
“Car washing is our passion,” Fuller said. “We understand it from beginning to end.”
Fuller’s allows patrons to choose from a set of wash packages, ranging from $4 to $15, according to its website, fullerscarwash.com. There are three unlimited monthly wash programs, with pricing as low as $22.99 and as high as $42.99. The website indicates it is open from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.
