Will County election results: Federal, state and local races


Will County voters turned out Tuesday to pick federal, state and local candidates for elected office.

About 57 percent of 429,647 registered voters took time to cast a ballot.

Vote totals are unofficial, according to the office of the Will County Clerk.

The competitive races included the one for representative in Congress for the 14thCongressional District in which Democratic hopeful Lauren Underwood won the election over incumbent Republican Randy Hultgren.

In the race for countywide positions, Democratic candidates Lauren Staley-Ferry, Tim Brophy and Mike Kelley were among the top vote earners.

David Garcia will replace Judge Dan Rozak in the 12thjudicial circuit court after defeating Ben Braun by earning 126,353 votes. Vincent F. Cornelius won the race for 12thjudicial circuit court to replace judge Carla Policandriotes by earning 52.13 percent of the vote over Victoria McKay Kennison.
