Aidan Buschmann, who attended Theodore Roosevelt Elementary School in Park Ridge, recently completed an Eagle Scout project at the school.
The 17-year-old made improvements to the school’s reading garden with new artwork and landscaping.
Q: Where are you from?
A: I’ve lived most of my life in Park Ridge. I was born in Overland Park, Kansas.
Q: What does it mean to you knowing you’ve completed the reading garden project?
A: It feels really good. I used it when I was a kid during the day to read. It’s nice to see it improved.
Q: Did you learn anything new while working on the reading garden project?
A: I learned some new management skills and completed a large project.
Q: What might you want people to know, if they are not aware already, about being an Eagle Scout?
A: I want them to know that it’s worth it. There are a lot of hours that go into it, but it’s worth it.
Q: How do you feel about starting your senior year at Maine South High School this fall?
A: They have a new schedule, and I am worried about it. I hope it goes well, but otherwise I am excited.
